The City of Greater Sudbury has developed a Flood Waste Relief Program to support residential property owners affected by flooding who do not have flood insurance.
This program helps eligible residents manage flood-related waste following recent flooding events. Approved applicants can deliver their flood-related waste to the Sudbury Landfill, Azilda Landfill, Hanmer Landfill, or the Walden Small Vehicle Transfer Station without paying tipping or gate fees.
When delivering your waste to one of the eligible landfills or the Walden Small Vehicle Transfer Station, please be prepared to present your City-issued flood waste relief card and valid ID (driver's license) to the scale house attendant . Vehicles attending the site without their card will not be exempted from fees. Your card is valid for 30 days after the date of issue. Check your card for the expiry date.
Please do not place flood waste at the curb
Flood-damaged items that are not eligible for regular roadside collection should not be placed at the curb. This includes construction debris and other flood-related waste, which will not be collected through standard curbside service.
Spring Residential Tipping Fee Holiday
The Spring Residential Tipping Fee Holiday takes place from May 11 to 16, 2026.
Residents are encouraged to use this opportunity to dispose of flood-related waste safely and properly.
