Coté Park, 215 Edward Avenue, Chelmsford

Before: Coté Park has a variety of recreational opportunities with three tennis courts, an outdoor rink, a skate park, a baseball diamond and a youth centre. Most playground equipment was found to be in poor condition and in need of renewal in less than five years. All playground equipment, with the exception of a rock climbing wall and a swing set, will be removed in the spring 2019.

After: Residents told the City of Greater Sudbury they wanted a fitness focused playground design with structures that encourage jumping, balance, physical fitness and coordination. Most requested park amenities included a bicycle rack and benches.

The new playground structure is geared to ages 5 to 12 years with an exciting variety of climbing and balancing apparatus. All playgrounds have an accessible feature.

An overview of the renewed Coté Park shows the approximate placement of new play equipment, benches and bicycle rack. It does not show existing structures that do not require renewal and will remain in the playground.

Installation of new play structures, including a new ground surface of engineered wood fibre, is scheduled for the spring 2019.
