Playground Revitalization
2025 Update
Municipal playground revitalization continues in 2025, with work focusing on previously selected sites. These improvements are part of a replacement/renewal partnership between the City of Greater Sudbury and FedNor Canada (Community Revitalization Fund).
Projects underway this year include:
- Daniel Tot Lot (3173 Daniel Ave., Val Caron)
- VLA Playground (26 O’Neil St., Lively)
- Levack site *specific site to be determined
These sites have been identified based on previous prioritization scoring and updated condition assessments.
A neighbourhood open house will be held at these locations. This is an opportunity to learn more about the playground projects and ask questions related to the sites:
Monday, June 9 – 4 to 7 p.m.
Daniel Tot Lot

Monday, June 16 – 4 to 7 p.m.
I.J. Coady Memorial Arena

St. Joseph Playground, St. Joseph Street, Sudbury
Before: An existing play structure, swing set and bench were found to be in poor condition and in need of renewal in less than five years. These items will be removed in the spring 2019.
After: Residents told the City of Greater Sudbury they wanted a fitness focused playground design with structures that encourage climbing, swinging, spinning and jumping. Most requested park amenities were shaded rest areas, benches and a bike rack.
