Survey #4: Implementation
With your feedback and input, the City of Greater Sudbury has developed a Sustainable Waste Strategy (SWS) that will guide how the City manages waste for the next 10 years. The goal of this strategy is to improve waste management programs and services.
There are 18 recommended actions that together will reduce and divert waste, optimize and extend landfill life thus delaying the need for a new landfill or disposal site, progress greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals, and improve convenience and the performance of the City’s current system. You can read about the 18 recommended actions here.
The SWS recommendations focus on actions we can each take to make sure waste ends up in the right spot. These immediate lower cost changes will help delay the need to implement higher cost actions later like developing a new landfill site. The SWS provides a roadmap for how our community can manage waste responsibly.
In Phase 1 we asked what was working well and what could be improved for waste management in Greater Sudbury and in Phase 2 we developed a vision for the future of waste management based on your input. This feedback helped us develop the 18 recommended actions and in Phase 3 we asked for feedback on those actions.
Now we want your input on how you think the SWS can successfully be implemented over the next 10 years. The survey closes on June 14th.
This survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
