Eco_Surgeabout 5 years agoUsing of Street lighting infrastructure for data transfer to facilitate Citizens on various fronts including pedestrian safety
Adaptive control system, on the Tool-less Sensor Platform (TSP) to be mounted on street lighting after upgrading to LED type. The vision for TSP is that municipalities can use the fact that streetlights are everywhere, and that they have electrical power to become the ‘real estate’ upon which smart, connected infrastructure can be built. In addition to providing on-off / dimming / reporting functions for the street lights, these control nodes are designed to be functional and work with both our own and third party sensors, for monitoring water mains, water meters, weather, sound, motion, etc. Also could be used as a safety beacon to signal pedestrian SOS and signal emergency services with location.
1ProcessEngabout 5 years ago"Open Data" concept
Move the city towards an "open data" concept where information such as energy use at city facilities, data from water and wastewater treatment facilities, traffic information, etc. is available to the public. This will allow for greater public engagement and allow citizens to understand how the city works on a more fundamental level.
2Eco_Surgeabout 5 years agoRejuvenating Downtown Parking systems
To convert the on-street Parking Meters to smart meters to bring in ease of parking and better control the parking operations. Currently the meters employed use coins to display the time left on the parking on the machine. The machines are difficult and pose danger to access due to winter conditions of snow and ice. What do the smart meters do? How do the Citizens benefit out of it? • The introduction of Pay by Plate would restrict the parking to two hours in the downtown area • The inputs to the smart meter can be with cash coin or Credit/debit cards. • This also eliminates the need for display of ticket on the dash board as the plate information is on database and will be streamed to the Parking commissionaires’ hand held device • They can be operated through a Mobile phone App or website to pay for the ticket thus ease of operation • The App could lead the Citizen to next available parking spot • Interactive parking lot signage for the ease of finding spots effectively

My relative, Joseph Boulay founded the City of Sudbury & many in my family have had remarkable positions of influence & responsibility with computer advancement & strategic business planning. I created a video pitch of the importance that the city position itself as a global marketing hub and 'identity' for this financial movement that presently, astoundingly has none. https://youtu.be/oHKd4q9DUfM . In a personal sense, I will be very glad to represent this investment to any platform or conference to push it forth, as I have on my own for many years. Connect with me, regardless of any outcome of this competition as it is so very key. Victoria Geney Boulay . http://clarkphynics.com . 778 772 9239 . clarkcollet@icloud.com .
